“RESTITUTION … PLEASE WAIT” is a series of 20 paintings on the concept of the detention of African cultural heritage. Beyond the spiritual dimension of the traditional ones, I try to reveal their extraordinary modernity while respecting their history and that of the peoples who founded them.
In a sometimes surrealist anachronism, the canvases question the course of these cultural works and their current places of conservation.
Between pop culture and traditional African art, the result is a portrait gallery steeped in history.
